The Makita DC18RC 18V LXT Rapid Battery Charger is designed for faster turnaround when charging compatible Makita batteries. It communicates with compatible battery electronics throughout the charging cycle, monitors current, voltage and temperature through Makita's 3 Active Controls system, and uses forced-air cooling to help manage battery temperature. Battery not included.
Rapid Charging by Battery Capacity
Charging time varies with battery capacity. Current Makita Canada guidance lists approximately 22 minutes for an 18V 3.0 Ah BL1830 battery, 36 minutes for an 18V 4.0 Ah BL1840B and 45 minutes for an 18V 5.0 Ah BL1850B.
Battery Communication and 3 Active Controls
A CPU in compatible batteries communicates with the charger so the charging process can respond to battery condition. The 3 Active Controls system monitors current, voltage and temperature rather than applying one fixed charging profile.
Forced-Air Cooling and Charge Display
The built-in fan directs cooling air through compatible batteries during charging to help manage temperature and support rapid charging. A digital display indicates battery condition and current charge level.
Battery Compatibility
The charger supports compatible 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries and Makita Canada also identifies compatibility with 7.2V–18V Ni-Cad, Ni-MH and lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Pod or stick-style batteries require the separately sold ADP04 adapter. No battery or adapter is included.
