The Kleton is a Canadian-made steel drum hand truck for handling 25–55 US gal. (20–45 Imperial gal.) steel drums in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, maintenance departments and shipping areas. Its all-welded 1-1/4 in. round tubular steel frame has a 1,000 lb (454 kg) working load limit. Two 10 in. front and two 6 in. rear mold-on rubber wheels support loaded positioning and allow the truck to stand free when loaded as intended.
The rear-wheel configuration distinguishes the DA594 from front-wheel-only drum trucks. Once the drum is positioned on the frame, the rear wheels help support the loaded truck and make it practical for staging and manoeuvring around pallets, curbs and uneven loading-dock areas. Kleton specifies that the truck is free-standing when loaded; it is not a storage rack, lifting device or spill-containment system.
The 1-1/4 in. round tubular steel frame is fully welded and finished with Kleton's current blue polyurethane coating. It accommodates steel containers from approximately 18 in. in diameter through common large drums while keeping a 24 in. overall width. The 22 in. depth reflects the DA594 rear-wheel design.
